Finally shipping just about everywhere. July 23, 2008 update. Here is what is available as of today. What is growing up I will put projected dates. Orders for Blue Gularis have been extremely heavy. They are going fast, but more are growing up. All fish labeled as 'young pairs' are 4-6 months old. They will be ready for spawning in a few weeks to a month or so. Fish this age readily adapt to new conditions and will give you their full adult life. I do not sell old fish, all spawned out and ready to die shortly after they are sold. The fry are fed micro worms, vinegar eels, baby brine shrimp. Adults are fed mostly frozen brine shrimp and live baby brine shrimp. This is mixed with live black worms, mosquito larvae, earthworms, frozen blood worms. I have been adding Ocean Nutrition Formula One Flake Food or sinking shrimp pellets to the regular diet of most of the fish. So many people get the fish and need them to take some flake food so I am adding it. Not a big part of the diet, but they do see it and eat it. I just do not like sending eggs. Only about half the time do they hatch. Then there are hard feelings all around as I reship and reship and reship. Just not worth it to me. This is a hobby for me. And messing with eggs is just not fun. Getting fish spread out everywhere is a high priority for me. More than once disaster has struck one of my fish tanks. In each case I have been able to get fish back from someone that got them from me. This let me keep my lines going. Trades are great. If what you have for trade is different than the types of fish I keep, no problem. I will get them to someone who can make the best use of your gene pool.
Please email me first to see if I still have what you see listed here. This time of year the fish are moving out quickly, with new ones growing out and being available. If I show it as out and you want it, email me, they are probably growing out now. Shipping fish is always based on the weather. I know a lot of folks use heat packs in winter and manage to get live fish to you. I have never received fish with a heat pack that were still alive a week later. So I don't ship when it is cold. It just takes too much time and energy to raise up fish and then kill them when shipping in the winter time. A terrible waste. High 90s are just as bad. Waiting a week or so for a cooler spell is well worth the wait. You just get better fish. Most shipping of up to 5-6 pairs in breather bags can be done throughout the USA for priority shipping of $10.00. email is djramsey @ djramsey.com |
