Welcome to David's Tropical Fish!
I currently keep between 80 and 95 tanks. It varies depending upon if I have a lot of small breeding tanks set up or I have swapped them out for larger growout tanks. My special interest is killiefish. They are always in at least 3/4 of my tanks. The other tanks will house whatever is currently of interest to me. Sometimes I have a lot of different Cories, usually some Ancistrus (bristlenose) , sometimes small soft water cichlids. I even have some barbs and fancy white clouds right now.
I also love plants and planted tanks. Boy to see what the Aquatic Gardeners people can do is just amazing. Me, if it isn't algae and it is green and growing, then I am happy. To the right is a 29 planted tank. I get no points for designing planted tanks. But the Angels love it for spawning. Java Moss, Java Fern and Water Sprite keep all my tanks in the green!
What kind of information is in here?
These pages will include information about what does and does not work for me. If I have actually seen someone else do something that works I will include that information also. I will not include stuff that just says what others say. Too often, at least for me, what everyone else says does not work for me.
If it works for me will it work for you?
Maybe, but keep this thought in mind. I live NE of Atlanta, Georgia USA. My water is very very soft. My TDS out of the tap is less than 20. The local streams do not have plants growing in them. The water is just too soft and devoid of nutrients. My soil type is clay. About the only rock in the ground is granite.
