Bob Allen's fishroom tour
My second day in Salt Lake City started out with a lengthy (but still too short to take it all in) tour of Bob's fishroom. It is almost as large as my house. To get there one has to meander through the home orchard. The apples were ready to pick, and Bob said I could. Pick an apple off the tree, rub it clean on my shirt, and eat it. That is quite a treat.
There is so much to see, so much to absorb, that it is hard to describe this tour. Thankfully I took a lot of pictures. Here goes.
When first entering the fishhouse, you see 2 long rows of tanks down each side of the house, and a big center row of tanks.

this is the left side, below is the right side

above is one wall before you get to the two long rows.
Below - I told you the apples were good.

Unfortunately, at my age I do not remember names well at all. Plus I am not a big cichlid person so the fish names just do not come out of my head. I will just show you some pics of the healthiest cleanest looking tanks I have yet visited. If you are into cichlids, you will know what the fish are. The fish were all well fed, fry everywhere, no dead fish in the tanks. In essence, Bob's fishroom is a showplace. Hard water makes the front glass a little tough to get pics through, but that is his water. So forgive the water spots, they do not come off.

Guess what, it is not all cichlids. Below, Bob's pet project. He has actually bred these fish, and published the article in TFH to prove it. He is working on doing it again, and again, and again.

Don't you wish you had been on the tour of all this with me? There is so much more but this gives you a real tease of what a great setup can look like.
